The “Sea Breeze’ summer blouse is made for pairing with shorts,a pair of jeans or any casual item that you have in your closed which compliments the stripes. But in our times there are no more rules when it comes to putting an outfit together anymore. You can match this blouse with a long cowboy matching color pants and it looks still cool. But enough about how we can use this sweater and lets talk about how i got my ideas on making this kind of design. For that follow me on the next chapter.

Inspiration

Of course the inspiration on designing this simple top it is the sea.Since Spring is at our doors now and summer will be soon the only thing i wanted was some sunshine and the Sea.So this blouse fits perfectly to my warm days mood and i hope your mood too :-). Also i used 100% mercerized cotton (one of my favorite materials) as i want this blouse to be practical .As we know with the spring and summer come the warm or hot days and cotton is a perfect material to have your body in as your skin breaths and cotton its a natural fiber that washes well and keeps your body temperature cool whilst all those synthetic fibers will make you sweat lot’s , AND WE DON’T WANT THAT, DO WE??? DAHHHH… 🙂

How this piece is made

This is a very easy construction and you have to follow the same pattern for both front and back panels and a very easy pattern for both sleeves. This piece starts top downwards and you work with HDC (one of my faves but don’t tell anyone that), start increasing until you arrive at the full bust measurements and from there just continue back and forth crocheting until the desired length.Than the last 5 rows switch to the pattern of alternating FPDC with DC and BPDC with DC , so that you can achieve the ribbing effect, but this is totally optional in my opinion, since you can also go for a cropped length or just without ribbing.I think it will still look good.Than the sleeves are also made starting from the top downwards until the desired length (or in my case the length of the written pattern) and than sew the sides of the front and back side, place the sleeves and sew with a very simple sewing on both front and back panel. And you are done, IT WAS THAT EASY 😉

Yarn and Color Combinations

The yarn used as i mentioned earlier is a mercerized cotton which is perfect for warm spring days also for hot summer days as it is a natural fiber that lets your skin breath. As for the color combinations for this style i think there are unlimited ones as this style goes with so many duo color combos. If you want a more settled look i went with the traditional black and white but there are so many colors that fits with this design.Let me write some for you:Pink and white, light blue and white, red and white, in case you want to have a bit of fun mixing more than 2 colors why not the blue, white and red which are so sea vibes colors as well.I would love to hear what is your color combo, please leave yours in the comment section down below.

TENSION (GAUGE)
18 stitches and 13 rows measured over 10 cm, 4 in of front post double crochet, using a 4 mm hook needed to obtain correct tension (gauge).
It is vitally important to check your tension (gauge) before starting as working to the wrong tension (gauge) will mean your garment will not be the size shown and could result in yarn being left over, or more yarn being required.

Before beginning, crochet a tension (gauge) swatch at least 13 cm,5 in, square and measure your tension (gauge). If there are more stitches and rows than stated, try again using thicker hook. If there are fewer stitches and rows than stated, try again using thinner hook.
