Let`s START:

2.Crochet the oval bottom of the bag.

– Take your 2.5 mm hook and crochet 35 ch(s)

— Start the 1st round

sk 1 ch and insert the hook at the 2nd ch from the hook. Crochet 1 sc. Continue crocheting 1 sc on each ch until you have 33 sc st. This we will call the 1st horizontal section of the base.

At the last ch increase with 3 sc st.This we will call the 1st half circle section of the base (i recommend to place markers where ever you have a section starting)

Than on the other side of the ch row crochet 1 sc on each st (in total 32 sc st) this we call the 2nd horizontal section of the base.

At the 33rd st increase with 2 sc in the same st.This we will call the 2nd horizontal section of the base.

(in number of st the pattern looks like this: 1st,32 st,3 st,32 st,2 st=total of 70 st)

Crochet 1 ch and we have finished the 1st round.

— 2nd round

At the beginning of each round we will have always 1 increase. So the pattern of each round will start with the pattern of 1 increase.

close the round with 1 ch.

This is the pattern for the full oval base.

3.Crochet the body of the bag.

Now we start the pattern for the side of the bag. For that we start to work upwards. To achieve that I made no increases for the next 2 rounds. Also from now on we will start working with HDC and in spiral, which means that, the last st of the round will not be in the same level as the 1st st of the round.

— 9th round

Take out all the markers and start crocheting 1 HDC on each st (in total 112 st).

— 10th round

Crochet 1 HDC on each st (in total 112 st).

— 11th round

Before you start crocheting the 11th round, place 2 markers, 1 on each side of the bag with no counting, because we will make increases on the side of the bag every uneven round.

Once you place the markers, crochet HDC until you arrive at the 1st marker. At the 1st marker increase with 2 HDC than put back the marker on top of one of the 2 st you crocheted. Than continue crocheting HDC on each st until you arrive at the 2nd marker. At the 2nd marker increase with 2 HDC than put back the marker on top of one of the 2 st you crocheted. Finish the round with HDC st.

(in total 114 st).

— Repeat round 10-11, 13 more times

You will end up with 37 rounds in total from the base. The last round will have 127 st in total. Level up both sides of the bag transitioning to sc than cut the yarn and hide the end.

4.Sew the leather handles

Than place the handles and fix them with some yarn, this way they will not move around during sewing. Sew them with the same raffia yarn and a tapestry needle using a simple sewing st.

AND YOU ARE DONE.
